Philanthropy Program at work in Haiti

January 29th, 2010

For Immediate Release:

On Thursday, January 28th 2010, a motion was passed during the weekly game night at NC State University Table Top Gamers to donate $50 from chapter funds to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, a remarkable contribution from a club who’s only revenue is member dues.

It was voted for unanimously and the funds were donated immediately. What the club didn’t know, however, was that a local gaming shop was willing to donate a game to the club in support of their philanthropic contributions.

All Fun & Games of Apex, NC donated a copy of “Heart of Africa” to the club to support them. The gaming shop was astonished to find the club supporting Haiti Disaster efforts and was eager to help the club build it’s library. This marks the fifth philanthropic project the chapter has worked on to date.

President Joshua Dudley was very excited to hear about the support the shop was giving the club. The game will be awarded to the club at their next gaming meeting on February 5th.

Other chapters are encouraged to think about Haiti Relief and ask for support from both their local communities and their fellow gaming chapters.

Registration Changes

March 12th, 2009

A few changes have been made to streamline new chapter registrations. Instead of resubmitting registration renewal forms every semester, they just need to be kept up to date and changes will automatically be shared with the Executive Director. Also, required constitution clauses are now “kindly asked clauses”.

You no longer need to submit your constitution. This change has been made to reduce confusion and remove a burden from registration. All documents have been edited to reflect these changes. Thanks!

Look forward to seeing new chapters from Washburn, UW Green Bay! We’re spending a week recruiting a few new chapters (like we do every semester), and then we’ll have an interest meeting coming soon, most likely a webchat like in the past. Details coming soon!
